Sounds like Kalispell. I was station in Lakeside 1970-1973 when I got discharged. Kalispell was really neat back then, nobody looked down their nose at you for much of anything. Who doesn’t wear camo to hunt
I don't. I recall a time I was out hunting in my blue jeans, white t-shirt and tennis shoes. Creped up on a small group of deer close as I ever did. They would look up and I'd stop and stand still. The author simply hasn't looked at and tried enough guns yet! I have had O/U's and have 5 SxS's right now. I'm a SxS guy. Just am no particular reason why. Wait a minute. There is a reason. O/U's have stacked barrels and they have a lot more resistance when swinging the gun on crossing shots...- Don Fischer

Statistics for differentiating between groups?
Want to know what your gun does average group size. I'd suggest about 10 3 or 5 shot groups then average the results. I have never been able to go out and shoot a group then turn around the same day and put the same number of holes in the same place on the next target. Simply never happens...- Don Fischer

Neck shots.
Most guy's reloading seem to want a rifle shooting 1" groups at 100 yds. That is so they can the heart lung area of a deer at 150 yds.! so I'm thinking the idea is you need a 1" rifle to hit an 8" target. has never made a lot of sense to me. Guidance on choosing a new barrel or new rifle
Only reason's I can think of to have a gun re-barreled is you either want a wild catt or something your having a hard time finding. Got my 6.5x06 quite a few years ago and it ran something around $800 with a Shilen barrel. Then wanted a 260 Rem and had a 700 ADL in 243 re-barreled. Also ran...- Don Fischer

New camera recommendations?
I like to have a camera to carry bird hunting with me, DSLR don't cut it! I've had a number of point and shoot's and had trouble with all of them till now. Got a Panasonic ZS 100 and ordered a case for it that goes on my belt at the same time. Way less than $1000 and it takes as nice of photo's...- Don Fischer

I think you live over by Richland don't you? How is the res. doing for crappie and cats this year? Saw that photo of the chest of crappie. I used to shoot them in Colorado and eat them. Kept the small ones and if one looked big, simply let it go. Also discarded any that didn't have a clear liver. I though they were good eating. Have never seen many around here but do see pigmy cotton tails now and then. They are small but good eating!- Don Fischer

How close to camp?
I kind of doubt animals will leave because they smell you at night. Used to take a wife hunting and camping with me and she'd bring her youngest son and while I'd be out hunting they would be watching animals walk through the camp site!- Don Fischer

custom rifle suggestions
Nice job. I prefer blued metal and wood stocks! Just had to do the bedding on one I had barreled to 260 Rem. Smith did a good job on the metal but didn't like the bedding to much. Wasn't shooting well so re-did the bedding and now it shoots great!- Don Fischer
