Okay, not sure this is the right forum. I recently blindly purchased a financial interest for property located in a Utah CWMU. As I have never utilized the services of a guide/outfitter I am completely ignorant of how they operate in regards to tag profit, guide fees, etc..
I am looking for...
I really don't understand why Idaho hasn't implemented a preference point system yet. Not to mention that the number of and variety of youth hunts the IDFG offer for our younger hunters is pathetic compared to other Western States. Can anyone shed some light on why we don't have a preference...

Apparently Rex Rammell doesn't seem to understand how general season elk tags work in our state. I don't want to start a Rex Rammell bashing session ;). I'm really interested...
Welcome to the board! Lots of great people with a lot of knowledge on here. What part of Southern Idaho are you looking at? What is your experience chasing mulies? Archery or Rifle? Give us an idea of what your goals are.
It's been more than a year since I've posted, hope everyone is a few dollars richer and a tad bit smarter since I last visited.
I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, my son just completed his Hunters Education and Safety class (He's 11) here in Idaho.
My question is this. What fun...
Gary, we're doing very well. I'll be taking a little vacation in southern California the last week of May and the first week of June. Good to hear from you. I'm thinking it's about time to come and see you again spring of 2010.
I've done this rental package with Gary and it is a great way to go. He is a very stand up guy and his equipment is top notch and the lodging is very comfortable and relaxing. This is a great deal. If I wasn't already booked that week, I would jump all over this.
Greenhorn, very respectable helping the young/inexperienced hunter out.
Jose, good job on......... oh wait, nothing. You bring nothing to the table. As I type these words I know you are relishing in the mere fact that I am responding to another asinine post of yours. I know that your...
Moosie, the cabin sits right on a little cove. We use the skiff to cruise the shoreline and do the spot and stalk thing or we could drop guys off and pick them up at a designated time. From where the cabin is we can be to twelve mile arm in two to three minutes or there is countless miles of...
Trying to put together a hunt on P.O.W the third week of May 2008. Here's the deal, if anyone is interested.
Boathunter has a cozy cabin with full kitchen and bathroom that sleeps 4 or more, a 16ft Lund with a 125 horse Johnson, and a Nissan Pathfinder 4x4, that he rents as a package deal for...
Anybody have any experience with them? Here is my dilemna:
Four Wheeler: I only use the four wheeler to haul bear bait in the spring and to drag the jet-sled into the goose fields in the winter. Occasionally I will use it (where legal) to take atv trails to non atv trailheads.
Snowmobile...
There's a lot of great guys on this site who truly enjoy hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. With that being said, there are a few real #*!holes. Jose, you are a part of that distinguished second group, and I say that knowing you probably get some morbid satisfaction from hearing...
I would strongly suggest St. Anthony out of the towns you mentioned. It's a neat little town. Within an hours drive you have some of the best fishing anywhere, some of the best elk hunting in the state and some of the best trophy mule deer country around. There are a fair number of turkeys...
