Funny you started this thread. My wife and I were just talking about next year doing a late summer trip to flathead for 4-5 days for something different to spend a few days fishing whitefish and then lots of other fun stuff to do with the kids in the area I’m sure too.
Not directing this at anyone specifically here, but something I’ve noticed any time on forums, FWP meetings, or just in general conversation when there’s discussion about changes to deer management: it’s stated or insinuated by the hunters that are unwilling to give up anything ever that those...
we can argue about what the best route is to fix this problem: going all LE, pick your season, weapon, season date changes, a combination of these, etc. I would at least hope we can all recognize that with all the factors contributing to declining mule deer(and whitetail in many areas of the...
I’ve been on a couple goat hunts and always felt like I’m in pretty good shape and mentally tuff. But that video makes me feel like such a wimp. 😂. Great to see the effort you’re putting into this. Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds for you!
I think the one thing that any of us with at least one brain cell can agree on is that staying with the status quo for mule deer management in MT has no chance for things to ever get better or even stay the same aside from maybe a few large chunks of limited access private.
This isn’t a major concern, but you can just stop at the u.s. port on your way north and fill out a form 4457 for your gun. You can add high dollar items to it if you’d like, but that’s not something I’d worry about much.
Older 17.5’ Lund with 90 horse mercury. Probably no upgrades in our near future with the price of boats. This is what it looked like Saturday afternoon after a good crankbait bite.
I noticed a pretty good reduction in recoil after adding a suppressor to my 6.5prc. I’d say it kicks similar to my kids youth 243 now, maybe a bit less even.
I don’t think anyone’s wanting to get rid of NR’s. But when probably 80-90% of them are hunting regions 6 and 7, that’s a problem, not unlike the issue where a large amount of resident pressure is stacked into those same regions as well.
