He had a local gunsmith clean it up for him, reputable guy that knows what he's doing but apparently hasn't worked on many 88's. Guy called him when it was done and told him it took half a day, 3 manuals, and some youtube videos to get it back together right. Needless to say, trigger work on one...

A buddy of mine has been doing some work to an older family heirloom rifle. He describes the pull as 10lbs of long, gritty, and mushy.
