We discussed the Remington 600 a few times on the Nosler forum. I was curious if you have ever had any instances where the rifle has discharged when cycling a round out of the chamber? It has happened twice to me. I didn't want to send the rifle back to Remington for the safety recall but after the second discharge I really don't feel safe using the rifle.
MINE never did that but I believe the recall was on 600, 660, & 700 (earlier ones)Hope this helps. Yes I would recommend getting it fixed for sure.
Doug Wells in Huson is a good smith. He might be able to help you out.

I'm actually in Kentucky, so I don't know that it would be worth contacting a gunsmith in Montana. The gun was never sent in for the recall so I should be able to send it back to Remington and let them take care of it.
That would work or ask Remington is there is a gunsmith reasonably close to you that is "certified" with them to do the repair and then you could just take it to this person instead of having to send the rifle in. I would do that personally.
