Your math is a little off. 14% growth on 1.12 million is not 1.16 million. This actually helps your numbers!
MN has 3/8 of 1% sales tax dedicated to conservation. It generates well over $100 million per year and has been very successful.
Although I like the concept, you might need a good...
I wish I was closer! Thank you for the hands on habitat work. We had our work day a couple of weeks ago and I unfortunately had to miss that one as well, but I did donate my sxs to help with the work!
I went through a wool outerwear phase. It does a serviceable job in the right conditions. But the new stuff is just so much lighter and warmer and more comfortable. My dad teased me about the new stuff until he tried it. Sold his wool at a garage sale.
I have enjoyed many of your posts Dave and really was impressed by how you handled this situation. My wife is a hospice nurse (in another state) but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and I will ask her.
We gave away a neat little turkey gun at our PF banquet this year. It is an American Tactical Nomad single shot folding 20 ga in a backpack designed to carry it. Pretty inexpensive at a little over $200. That way you have both hands free for your coffee cup and bag of powdered donuts. Google...
I have had one experience with Silencer Central after getting one of their silencers at a PF banquet. I had a very good experience with them and would not hesitate to use them again.
I had no time for a picture! Imagine a black bear mama with 3 little tiny cubs pop out on the road ahead of you in the dark. I came to a stop 10 yards from them. They took off before I could snap a picture. They were so stinkin' cute my wife wanted to take one home!
Really starting to like track. My son is a freshmen on varsity for the triple jump. He is improving every time out. He runs the 400 once in a while too.
I am not a huge fan of the legislature making these decisions, but unless someone can convince me otherwise, I think it is better than one politically motivated judge making the decision. That is really a bad model. I am not aware of many judges with PhDs in biology.
One thing we should not forget is that as a hunting community, we are lucky to have individuals care enough to give up their time and personal money to try and find a solution. They might get it right, might get it half right, might have no effect or maybe it is worse that before (doubtful) but...
It seems to be generally accepted that it is easier to kill mule deer during the rut in Nov than in Oct. If we can agree on that, I do not understand how there will be the same amount shot by moving the season to Oct. It has to be less. Now there may be other factors that overshadow/dominate...
Agree with all of the above and would add that a good hunter doesn’t unnecessarily spook game and thus ruin it for themselves or others. I would also add that a good hunter gives something back in the way of conservation or mentoring those not as skilled. My definition doesn’t include a wall...
