    Mobile hunting camp

To each their own, but looks like a pain in the rear sleeping up on top like that. Not real handy when you have to pee in middle of the night. My buddy tried one for a while and pretty quickly unloaded it for this reason.

    Who's been to Iowa?

I've got my first trip booked for this fall, firearms hunting. Can't speak with any experience, but looking forward to it.

    Canadian Wild Hogs?

Any truth to the story about wild hogs now being a problem in parts of Canada now? Some folks on another forum were discussing and I had never heard of such. Have hunted hogs many times in Texas, Alabama and Oklahoma but never knew they existed in Canada.

    Rimfire Rifle Recommendations

Ruger 77/22 Hard to beat, however I wouldn't put a can on a "nice" rifle. I'd get something inexpensive black & plastic to put a can on.

Beyond a dream, what's your ultimate hunt?

Ever read the story Red Letter Days in British Columbia by Col Townsend Whelen? This would be the dream hunt. A couple months with a pack string, traveling many miles in the wilderness shooting game, fishing, camping comfortable, eating good and just enjoying the country.

    What's your side hustle?

Retired contractor but have several things going on that bring in some pretty decent income. Was asked to serve on the board of directors of a local company and get compensated monthly for that. Do construction consulting and management anytime the above company takes on a project. Rent out...

    What's on the smoker today?

Just picked up two nice whole turkeys on sale $0.39 per pound, little over $5.00 each. Will be smoking one of those birds soon.

    I need a turkey gun

I don't understand the need for a dedicated turkey shotgun. Same old 12ga you shoot ducks, geese and pheasants with will work just fine. No need for a fancy camo finish or special sighting system either. Although I'm not an avid turkey hunter, I've done my fair share of it and killed a few. I...

Finally getting one. I blame my coworker!

I've got three of those boat paddles; .22/77, .223 & .243. Had a .270 and gave it to my nephew. Not the prettiest thing around but they're good rifles.

Family Trip to Alaska - Let’s Talk

Having done (8) trips to AK, I think your schedule is biting off a whole lot more driving and travel than you will be able to accomplish in that time. I've done the cruise / inland tour thing and would not recommend. Felt like being herded around like cattle. The trip I enjoyed the most...

    Any hog farmers on here?

My neighbors who are also the same guys that cash rent and farm our ground raise about 8,000 hogs year round. A couple times per year they will call up with a hog or two that has a minor injury, rupture, bum leg, etc. They can't keep them with the healthy hogs and the packers don't want them...

Small outboard- Suzuki v. Merc. v. Yamaha

Merc is the only one I've ever had much trouble with. Swapped it for a Yamaha never a problem. We've got three boats with Yamaha's and no issues to date. Having said the above, I'd have no problem with a Suzuki or Honda either, great motors.

    How many is too many . . . .

Growing up my dad, uncles and grandpa just about all had a few, typically; one rifle, a shotgun, a .22 rifle and maybe a pistol and maybe an extra .22 rifle or shotgun for a kid to use. That was pretty much the norm and I was on the same track till about 21 years old. Then and avid gun nut...

    Game Carts

Use one frequently for deer. In many cases, it's a whole lot quicker and handier than trailering up the four wheeler, loading, unloading, strapping down, etc. Just throw the cart in back of truck and go fetch it.
