How’s everyone’s diy or professionally done euro mounts holding up? I’d love to see some pictures of ones that are 3-5-10 years old from all methods. I’ve done boil(simmer) and maceration, both seem to be holding up well as far as grease and color goes.
Anyone have any outfitters they recommend for a spring time hunt in south Texas? Have taken hogs in a few states but would really like to get on a javelina with a bow!
Is this a new way of doing a euro? I boil once until the membrane on the nose splits then pressure wash until all meat is gone inside and out. Bring to a simmer in 40 volume peroxide then done. Comes out clean and white.
Slow down and glass each draw and drainage. It’s not all about burning boot leather sometimes, still hunt through some dark timber midday and be setup on good glassing points during dawn and dusk.
Hello all.
Trying to plan a hunt for this fall for my dad and I. We are looking at some tags for this CWMU. Looks like the property is about 20k acres and the dates for the hunt would be November 6-10. I’m just looking for some general info on this hunt such as the the deer population and maybe...
I have not been to the area you asked about. Good general rule is to keep anything you don’t want stolen either on you or locked in the car. If you have expensive coolers I like to lock them to a tree.
I’ve gotten two labs from non breeders, paid $350 for one and $400 for the other. Both are great family and hunting dogs for waterfowl and upland birds. Both times I made sure I got to meet the parents of the puppies to see how they looked and acted, I also looked to see how the puppies were...
If you put in the miles there is a reasonable chance for an elk in most units in Colorado. Just remember that if you go in far you still have to walk all the way back out with the elk on your back. Not sure how old you and your father are or what kind of shape your in but make sure you prepare...
Hey everyone this may be a bit out in left field for a hunting forum, but would anyone recommend a job/career path that they love as an outdoorsman? I’m a recent college grad with a criminal justice degree and at least for the moment find myself not wanting to be a police officer or a lawyer. So...
From what I’ve seen with very limited antelope archery hunting is they seem to be less jumpy when your out doing spot and stalk. When sitting a blind over water they seem very jump, I think a lot of them know/remember that the blind means they could get shot at!
I just graduated from college this year and was able to fit in some type of hunt every fall. You have a lot more freedom once you get away from those high school teachers. Usually left Tuesday night and was back Sunday night. not sure if your boys will be playing football in college but if not a...
We set off on our journey on Wednesday evening. I was behind the wheel first with Aaron set to take over after the first 4 hours. After a rainy and slow drive we were at our first checkpoint 4 hours from home as Aaron climbed into the driver’s seat the weather cleared and our spirits brightened...
