A little over 16 years ago my wife shot a buck on thanksgiving day. We had thanksgiving dinner with the family and went to the hospital and she delivered our 3rd child that night. (technically the next day for delivery). Life does not have to stop when you have a baby. Also helps when you marry...
I agree 100 percent. Probably worded m y post poorly. Just wanted to take pressure of op. Seemed like A lot of warnings on being able to hunt with the new baby. Just wanted to encourage the tag holder that he can do the hunt right and still put his family first
I must have married a "tougher" woman or I am a failure of a man? I have had 2 children during deer and elk season and hunted plenty on otc tags when they were born. I have been with my wife 30 years and my kids are teenagers and young adults. Opinions on both sides seem dramatic. I think the...
I knew original owner well. Company that bought it ran it in the ground is what happened. New Buyers were not good people. i have no idea who brought it back to life this time
Agree I am out on the giraffe but a Zebra is a really challenging animal to hunt. I went to Africa once and the last thing my daughters said as I left was "dont shoot a zebra." 😂 They are both horse loving barrell racers. One of our party wanted a zebra and I was pretty shocked how difficult...
I think the numbers on come home to hunt tags are a few hundred? That number doesnt seem like the problem. Im not sure how many native nr tags get issued but I did see chth and it was a drop in the bucket at the time
Very accurate statement. Customer has accuracy issues first thing SOME gum manufacturers will say is you must not have broken in properly. In my experience Weatherby wont do this ever and will honor the gaurantee. Some gun companies do it as a standard operating procedure. We place custom...
dont do it. Its a waste of ammo. I have lots of Weatherby personal rifles and I am a weatherby dealer. Shoot the gun to sight in and clean when necessary like accuracy drops off or you can tell the barrell is foul.
I am a trophy hunter and proud of it. As a kid on my first hunt I shot a doe and it was a trophy. My sons first deer was a doe when he was 8. that was a trophy to both of us. I actually tanned the hide and we still have that doe hide. I have probably 30 mounts? and countless just deer and elk...
When I hunt and dont eat coyotes and prairie dogs am I trophy hunting? Do you eat coyotes? Wait! are we both trophy hunters? 😂 Is the criteria for a "trophy" hunt solely not personally eating the meat?
only reliable way is to ground check them. Shoot first ask questions later. just kidding sort of. I have taken some nice bears but I have definitely misjudged a few. I agree with watch as long as you can, rushed shots haven't been good decisions for me. Every really big bear I have shot I...
Im mostly wearing all wool once the snow flies. Green wool pants and red and black plaid jacket!! I have some sitka and kuiu gear but wear the old woolies 80 percent of the time. We have some brushy mountains and nothing is as quiet as wool. We have not come uo with a better man made replacement...
