With the Bitzenburger, I put maybe a 2-3 degree R helical. But I'm using 2 blade broadheads, Magnuson stingers, which don't have a huge profile. Accuracy over cutting damage I suppose. They are flying extremely well out to 70-80 yards on the range.
You’re looking for a tool to build an arrow, that you want to propel at 350 fps, in order to hit a target as accurately as possible. You may even be building arrows to hunt, arrows that may travel 40-50 yards or more, with the goal of an ethical shot into a target ring the size of maybe a large...
Got mine this year at 58 yards, aimed center front, and didn't move at all. Dropped 5 yards from where he was hit. Someone previously posted, don't overthink. I think that is very sound advice.
I've had my sig for about 4-5 years. Not sure model, but it's the 6x. I find it use it more during archery even for glassing since I'm not hunting things more than 100 yards out, usually. FWIW, I may switch back to my Bushnell Engage 10x50 binos, instead of my new Vortex 15x56 Diamondbacks...
FWIW, I do several fishing trips a year between April and October. Usually end my season with my annual private 2-day charter of which I'm now the charter master. During the year, I jump on sport boats out of SD for 1.5 or 2 day trips (probably $800-$900 for cost of trip, picking up...
Get OnX and start e-scouting during the off-season. Read forums. Most guys will post up general areas and then use OnX to figure out if there's access to public land. That's how I started about 5-6 years ago. See if any of your friends, co-workers, clients/customers, or anyone in your circle...
Sorry, I was just referencing deer season. Have not personally hunted bear, but they are up there in D11, above the Pasadena/La Canada/Monrovia area. The issue up in some of these areas is access.
Two jackets, three long sleeve tops, all large, but the heavy cold gear jacket fits like an XL. I'm 6'1" and 210, all fits perfectly.
RR Cold gear heavy jacket

Forgot to add. I had a deaver leaf pack added in the rear which increased my payload (500 or 1000 lbs?). Decreases sag when I'm loaded up with camping gear, full coolers of meat or fish, etc. Was very inexpensive to add.
Also, I considered changing out UCAs. I follow this guy on youtube. I...
I recently had Bilstein 6112's in front and 5160's in the rear, added about 2" of lift to my Tundra. The smoother ride was noticeable over the stock (4600s??). In case you want to upgrade but not go too crazy, this would be my recommendation.
Inreach mini. Syncs with my phone through Garmin app. I've sent texts from the mountains and 100 miles off the coast of So Cal while fishing. Works fine
I recently ordered a pair of Nevada GTX uninsulated (hunting in California). I called the day after I ordered, and someone picked up, gave me good info and was very accommodating. Haven't used them for a true customer service issue, but based on my personal experience, and my hunting partner...
I have a D14 general tag still to fill. Does anyone carry tags for any other animals, just in case? Bear, hog, etc.? I'm mainly hunting in Big Bear. I know, not too impressive but it's where my friends hunt and I enjoy going into town when boil in a bag ain't cutting it.
The Stinger 2 is a narrow overall cut, maybe 1 inch?? So I'm sacrificing overall initial damage for perceived increased accuracy. These fly extremely straight, similar to my Rage Trypan mechanicals. But the customer service from Magnusen is exceptional so far.
Dropped my first buck with the Magnusen Killer Bee Stinger 2 last week. Blades were nicked up pretty good (one miss, one hit). Emailed the company about blade replacement yesterday (Saturday) and got a response today. They're sending me new blades. Excellent customer service.
