In my family’s experience, the disability itself can be very costly in many ways. Just the cost of various treatments and the expenses of every day life can be a lot. And as some of the other folks have suggested, the adaptive stuff usually isn’t cheap. It’s hard to find the money sometimes.
Can’t kill what isn’t there. I’d spend alot of time running and cutting during that forty-five minute window between when they wake up and shortly after they hit the ground. This is probably one of the more effective methods for locating birds. Not sure about the mountains, but this is my...
Thanks. It was a good way to end the season. Makes me think I’m getting old to have passed. If there was such a thing as catch and release hunting, this was it.

The birds ended up being roosted up on the neighboring property, somewhere between 250 and 350 yards away. Given the wind direction and the interstate noise, hearing them gobble probably would have been a pretty tall order.
I’ve got a late season leftover tag that I’m not sure I’ll get a...
So, back to the action.
I texted the photo of the birds to my Dad and made a few more yelps on the mouth call. The two toms moved down the hill several yards from their position in the photo above. They paused for a bit and seemed to survey the situation. Then they put their heads down and...
