I'm just getting in to turkey hunting a bit and want to have options besides my bow although that will be my primary weapon of choice. I have a Remington 1187 and will be shooting 3" TSS. Any opinions on a good choke tube I should be looking at?

I use either a primos tightwad (.660) or Trulock (.675) in both my 870 and 11-87. They both give a good even hunting pattern with 7&9 tss blend and are reasonably priced.

Check your factory full first. If that doesn't sound right consider that 1.75oz of TSS #9s is about 580 pellets. Compare that to the same load of lead #5s having only 300.

I never have the luck of others. The factory full chokes have never worked for any of the guns I’ve setup.

My 870 20 gauge Compact with an IC 555 choke has 300+ pellets in a 10” circle at 40 yards. That’s with a 1 5/8 ounce load. My 20 ga 1187 gives me 350 pellets with the same load and choke.
