A state wildlife director will begin leading the Fish and Wildlife Service later this month, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke announced this afternoon.
Greg Sheehan, who has been the head of Utah's Division of Wildlife Resources since December 2012, will begin serving in the newly created position of FWS deputy director later this month. He will primarily be responsible for protecting imperiled species and enforcing hunting and fishing regulations.
